how to forgiveSome people say time heals all wounds. But I believe if you don’t put in the effort to forgive, you can wind up repeatedly bumping up against your angry thoughts, and bruise yourself even more.

I know because I’ve had a few seemingly unforgivable situations – and for a long time I was carrying the weight of hate in my heart.

I tried to let go of my anger, but I had simply buried my pain – and my resentment was leaking out into other areas of my life. I was stress eating. I became less social. I found I had triggers – which reminded me of past events – that were being set off.

One day I thought: ENOUGH. So I began researching how people who had experienced situations far more injurious than my own had healed their hearts. What did these positively directed people all share in common?

I also researched how anger and resentment affect the brain – and what neuroscientists have to say about forgiveness. Plus I did research in positive psychology and cognitive therapy.

I then took everything I learned and developed a series of “Forgiveness Tools” which ultimately helped me to lose the heavy weight of hate in my heart – and gain inner peace! Good bye stress eating – and stress everything! I’m now back to being my peaceful, happy, socially friendly self!
