Wanted: More peace in the world please! Reward shared with everyone!

Here’s a wonderful poem called  “Wage Peace” by Judyth Hill – which was shared by Donna Runion – on my Facebook wall! Thanks as always Donna for knowing such wonderful pieces to recommend!

“Wage Peace” by Judyth Hill
Wage peace with your breath.
Breathe in firemen and rubble,
breathe out whole buildings and flocks of red wing blackbirds.
Breathe in terrorists
and breathe out sleeping children and freshly mown fields.
Breathe in confusion and breathe out maple trees.
Breathe in the fallen and breathe out lifelong friendships intact.
Wage peace with your listening: hearing sirens, pray loud.
Remember your tools: flower seeds, clothes pins, clean rivers.
Make soup.
Play music, memorize the words for thank you in three languages.
Learn to knit, and make a hat.
Think of chaos as dancing raspberries,
imagine grief
as the out breath of beauty
or the gesture of fish.
Swim for the other side.
Wage peace.
Never has the world seemed so fresh and precious:
Have a cup of tea and rejoice.
Act as if armistice has already arrived.
Celebrate today.

An empowering question to keep asking yourself: “What would love do right now?”

A Course in Miracles has many wonderful quotes about how fear and love cannot co-exist. As ACIM says: “Perfect love casts out fear. If fear exists, then there is not perfect love.”

My Facebook Friend Donna Runion shared on my Facebook wall this wonderful quote from Max Lucado: “Fear never wrote a symphony or poem, negotiated a peace treaty or cured a disease. Fear never ruled a family out of poverty or a country out of bigotry. Fear never saved a marriage or a business. Courage did that. Faith did that. People who refused to consult or cower to their timidity did that. But fear itself? Fear herds us into a prison and slams the doors.”

Plus A Course in Miracles reminds when faced with fear to remember: “Nothing you see means anything alone.” And… “Clean but the mirror and the message shines forth.”

If you know Carole King’s lyrics in her song  “Only love is real” you’ll feel as if Carole was very much inspired by reading passages in ACIM.

Here’s Carole’s lyrics, to contemplate for the day:

LYRICS TO CAROLE KING’S ONLY LOVE IS REAL:

As I bask in the glow of a just-lit fire
Feeling the warmth as the flame grows higher
I think it’s true that nothing is really new under the sun
Watching a new love grow from old love’s embers
    Yesterday’s gone but today remembers
Doesn’t it seem to come down the same for everyone

    Only love is real
    Everything else illusion
Adding to the confusion of the way we connive
    At being alive
Tracing a line till we can define
The thing that allows us to feel
    Only love is real

    Childhood dreams like muddy waters
Flowing through me to my son and daughters
Everything I ever thought is confirmed as truth to me
Even as I see the way that I want to go now
Still I wish I had known what I know now
Maybe I could have spared you giving your youth to me

    Only love is real
    Everything else illusion
Adding to the confusion of the way we contrive
    To just stay alive
Tracing a line till we can define
The thing that allows us to feel
    Only love is real
